Karifa Yao and Noah Fuson scored for Rhode Island, who now advance to next Saturday's championship match against Colorado Springs.

The team won their USL Conference Finals matchup by a score of 2-1 against the Charleston Battery on Saturday night.

The Battery threw all numbers forward in the final minutes of the match to grab an equalizer and force extra-time, but the comeback bid fell short as Charleston were unable to record a shot in stoppage time. Rhode Island held on to win, 1-2, and claim the Eastern Conference title.

Rhode Island FC and Charleston Battery played to a scoreless draw in April and a 1-all finish at Charleston in October.

After a resounding 3-0 victory over 2024 Players’ Shield winners Louisville City FC on Saturday, Rhode Island FC is headed to Patriots Point Soccer Stadium in Mount Pleasant, S.C. to take on Charleston Battery in the USL Championship Eastern Conference Finals.

Rhode Island FC has won the USL Eastern Conference championship. The team, in its inaugural season, clinched its first trophy in club history by defeating Charleston Battery 2-1 on Saturday. According to RIFC it's the first expansion team in eight years to advance to the USL Championship Final in its inaugural season.
