Archaeologists have uncovered intact portions of the foundation wall of pharaonic Queen Hatshepsut's valley temple in Luxor and the nearby tomb of Queen Teti Sheri, grandmother of Ahmose I, the first pharaoh of Egypt's golden New Kingdom era.

"This is the first time we have a complete set of the decoration of an 18th Dynasty temple," said Zahi Hawass, the Egyptologist who led the excavation project.

People visit newly unveiled archeological discoveries, including 4,000-year-old tombs of high-ranking officials and artwork from the time of Queen Hatshepsut, at an ancient necropolis in the famed city of Luxor.

A team of archaeologists, led by Zahi Hawass, uncovered the foundation wall of Queen Hatshepsut's temple and the tomb of Queen Teti Sheri. The discovery includes over 1,000 decorated stone blocks, offering breathtaking scenes and insights into Egypt's New Kingdom era.

A joint Egyptian archaeological mission led by the Zahi Hawass Foundation for Antiquities and Heritage and by the Supreme Council of Antiquities has made groundbreaking discoveries at the site near the causeway of Queen Hatshepsut’s funerary temple at Deir El-Bahari in Luxor.

This includes the 4,000-year-old tombs of high-ranking officials and artwork from the time of Queen Hatshepsut.
