Sky Sports pundit Nico Rosberg addressed the collision between McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri during the Canadian Grand Prix.

Australia’s Oscar Piastri survived unscathed from his first high-speed collision with Lando Norris to finish fourth in Monday morning’s Canadian Grand Prix and extend his lead in the Formula One world championship after his McLaren teammate admitted he badly messed up.

Lando Norris was handed a further punishment by the stewards after his crash at the Canadian Grand Prix. Norris, 25, started from P7 following a disappointing qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. Towards the closing stages of the race, the Brit was on the charge as he closed in on his teammate, Oscar Piastri, who was running in P4.

Piastri was sitting in fourth place with Norris right behind him, but disaster struck for McLaren when the British driver tried to shoot through a gap that wasn't there. Norris clipped his teammate and then collided with the wall, ending his race as a safety car was deployed.

Lando Norris has crashed out of the Canadian Grand Prix after coming unstuck in a tense battle with Oscar Piastri, allowing the Australian to extend his championship lead.

Lando Norris could cause major problems at McLaren after hearing a reporter's comment about his crash with Oscar Piastri. The Canadian Grand Prix ended in a disaster for McLaren as star driver Norris collided with teammate Piastri late in the race causing him to retire from the race early.

Verstappen was penalized for causing a collision with Russell in that incident, and is just one penalty point shy of a one-race suspension. The Red Bull driver needs to navigate both the Canadian Grand Prix and the Austrian Grand Prix later this month without incident to avoid a suspension.

F1 championship leader Oscar Piastri lost out in the early stages of the Canadian Grand Prix, whilst Alex Albon went flying off the track. Max Verstappen and George Russell managed to get past Turn 1 cleanly, with the Mercedes star maintaining his lead ahead of the champion.
