It was the final home game of the regular season, and on Senior Day the Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeated the Virginia Cavaliers 35-14. The Irish scored on their first “possession”, then traded punts with the Cavaliers for the next 9 possessions.

Before Notre Dame kicks off against Virginia on Saturday, 29 Fighting Irish football players will be honored during a 2024 Senior Day ceremony in South Bend. Taking part in the festivities does not mean a player cannot return for another season at Notre Dame if he has remaining eligiblity.
