Persistent rain at the Green Park stadium had again prevented play in the morning session and conditions did not improve thereafter as the entire ground stayed under covers.

Rain forced the abandonment of Day Two of the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. Although the rain stopped by mid-morning, overcast conditions and a waterlogged outfield prevented any play.

Weather forecasters predict the start of Day 3 could be delayed due to light showers. Rohit Sharma's team would be hoping to get a favourable result from this match in order to bolster their WTC standing.

Bangladesh are scheduled to resume their first innings from 107 for 3, which they managed on the rain-hit opening day.
