EIGHT DAYS BEFORE Al Horford signed with the Golden State Warriors, their soon-to-be veteran center found himself at a San Diego dinner with a group of men he'd only ever viewed as adversaries. Horford calls his approach "old-school" in the modern NBA.
Warriors fans might not be eager to give Smart any benefit of the doubt here, as the guard has injured Curry before. Back in 2022, Smart dove for a loose ball and collided with Curry’s legs, which resulted in a sprained ligament in his foot. The injury took Curry out of the final 12 games of the regular season.

The Warriors beat the Lakers 119-109 on opening night as Golden State overcame a heroic performance by Luka Dončić in Los Angeles. Stephen Curry put the game away with a spectacularly deep three-pointer in the final minute of the game as the Warriors got off to a 1-0 start on the season.
Last year’s Celtics used coach Joe Mazzula’s penchant for 3s to attempt a mind-boggling 48.3 triples a night, three more than the 2019 and 2020 James Harden-led Rockets. The Warriors have led the league in volume only twice, once in 2015-16 and the other in 2022-23, when they averaged 43.2 attempts, good for fourth all-time.

Jimmy Butler's bet with Draymond Green could drive Golden State Warriors forward
During his postgame news conference, Butler made the amusing admission that his free-throw production may be under additional pressure this season. The veteran forward admitted that he's made a bet with Draymond Green that he will end the season with a better free-throw percentage than superstar guard Stephen Curry.
The Warriors ended up mounting a 23-9 run to start the third quarter, and Luka Doncic was the only Lakers player to score during that stretch before Marcus Smart finally hit a free throw to end their dry spell. The Warriors have got a 78-64 lead now with 5:29 left in the period.
