Gavin and Stacey star Laura Aikman, 39, stole the show as Sonia in the long-awaited finale – and fans are concerned. The beloved BBC comedy finally returned five years after leaving us on the agonising cliff-hanger when Nessa ( Ruth Jones) proposed to Smithy ( James Corden) after he’d rowed with girlfriend Sonia.

The finale ended with the fan-favourite couple tying the knot, following their small-scale nuptials with a down-to-earth celebration at the local pub. But while Smithy and Nessa had their happy ending, viewers were less than impressed by a major shock twist, which fell as a bombshell not long into the Gavin and Stacey finale.
