More than 79% of registered voters in Franklin County cast their ballots in the 2024 presidential election and, as expected, voted overwhelmingly for Republican candidates.

Franklin County’s voter turnout in Tuesday’s election appears to have come up just short of the record turnout during the 2020 presidential race.

Almost 50,000 people turned out on Election Day and 25,000 voted early in the Republican stronghold, the Sussex County clerk said.

Franklin County’s voter turnout for the general election was slightly less than the previous presidential election in 2020.
