L’Oréal recalling acne creams sold at Walmart, Target, and Walgreens due to ‘cancer-causing chemical’
Makeup company L’Oréal has recalled popular brand La Roche-Posay’s acne cream because it may contain benzene, a cancer-causing chemical, according to New York Post. Effaclar Duo Dual-Action Acne Treatment contains benzoyl peroxide, which could have the known carcinogen, according to Valisure, an independent testing lab in Connecticut.
Some La Roche-Posay, Proactiv and Walgreens acne treatments recalled due to benzene levels
The Food and Drug Administration said several lots of six products containing benzoyl peroxide are being recalled, including Walgreens Acne Control Cleanser, Proactiv Skin Smoothing Exfoliator and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment. The full list and lot numbers was posted online Tuesday.
