Freddie Freeman homered for the second straight game and drove in three runs, Clayton Kershaw gave up five hits in six innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5–0 on Friday night.

"We're in a position where we're in first place, and I don't even think we've played our best baseball yet,” Dodgers GM Brandon Gomes said.

Those hoping the Dodgers would land a big name were disappointed as the Dodgers added two lesser-known major leaguers.
