He had too much holiday spirit. A fiend went on a sacrilegious rampage at two Maryland churches on Christmas Eve, pouring whiskey in the holy water at one place of worship before he was detained by fed-up parishioners,

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said Thomas Campbell Bolling Von Goetz, 56, entered churches in Leonardtown and Avenue, Maryland, as well as assaulted a church-goer on Christmas Eve. Deputies said Von Goetz disrupted the evening Mass at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Avenue by dropping an onion in the isle of the altar.

A Maryland man was arrested and charged after deputies said he walked into a church’s Christmas Eve midnight mass and poured Whiskey into the holy water.

Later in the night at a midnight mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Leonardtown, Maryland, Von Goetz turned up with a bottle of whiskey and allegedly disrupted the service by pouring it into the holy water before threatening to harm the parishioners.

Authorities in Maryland said a man has been arrested after he disrupted services at two local churches on Christmas Eve and endangered citizens.

Officers were called to Holy Angels Catholic Church shortly after 5 p.m. after Thomas Von Goetz assaulted church goers with tangerines.
