P resident Donald Trump arrived in Japan on Monday, the second stop on his Asia tour that will culminate in a high-stakes meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this week. Trump visited with Japan's Emperor Naruhito on Monday after landing in Tokyo.

Trump has already landed a $550-billion investment pledge from Tokyo in exchange for respite from punishing import tariffs.
