Verizon's wireless customers in dozens of markets across the United States, including Michigan, experienced severe service disruptions for 10 hours Monday. By late afternoon, the cellular giant gave an update, saying service restoration was underway, and two hours later, complete restoration of service.

Verizon is looking into a service issue that triggered more than 100,000 outage reports Monday morning. More than 100,000 customers claimed to be without service as of about 11 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector, a website that tracks tech outages. Verizon said the company is "aware of an issue impacting service for some customers."
